The Lion Has Arisen

Good morning world. Welcome Spring! This has been a rough winter indeed. Why do I continue to punish myself by living so far up North? Simple answer. Because I've done it all my life with the exception of my 15 months in Hawaii. I also lived in Japan but that too was on the same latitude as Montana. Yes, a glutten for punishment but Spring makes my heart a flutter with the wonders of renewed life. It snowed today. The moisture is good I guess. Yes, the glass is half full today and I am high on life. I charted for the first time...ever!

My album Rock and Roll Love Child is #11 this week on the Roots Rock charts for internet radio airplay. I'm super stoked for two reasons. One, because my name is sandwiched between David Byrne and Edwin McCain :) and Two because it has been difficult to classify, identify, and label my music. This is bad for one reason only. How can I, or an agent, publicist, record label etc, market my music if they can't identify it? WELL NOW I CAN. (insert big smiley [...]

It has finally snowed in Montana and beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. It always takes me a while to get in the swing of the Christmas spirit. Not because I'm a scrooge but because I'm so dang busy and usually don't shop till the last minute (go figure). I've been to a couple Christmas parties and the fact that it's 11 days and counting has me scrambling to deck the halls and get ready. I cleaned the carpet in the living room yesterday. What fun. Didn't get the room painted, I knew that was an ambitious goal from the start, but a girl can dream right? Now when the newness of the gifts we've received starts wearing off and the ornaments get packed away for another year, it will be Christmas again, for me anyway, when I redecorate the living room. Fresh color and design to rejuvenate my life and 2010. Until then, I'll bask in the chaos the room offers and smile. The tree goes up tomorrow with the stockings, and other holiday shwag. Merry Christmas, may yours be Merry and Bright!

Snow in Montana

Ya know, when I was a kid, it snowed all the time here in Missoula and the last 10 years have been bone dry with exception of a few snowy days here and there. The sun has been shining and I'm so grateful for sun in my life. Missoula, my beautiful home, is on the valley floor and in the winter the clouds set in and there is no sun for way too long. Can be hella depressing. I love the sun. Feels so good, feels so good. I'm a summer baby so I LOVE the heat. I also love the snow so come on..... I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
